A grandparent study can be performed to determine paternity when a DNA specimen is unavailable from the alleged parent. Ideally, grandparent testing analyzes specimens from the child’s mother, the child and both of the alleged father’s biological parents. It is possible to perform the test without the child’s mother, but it may require additional testing and significantly more time. Be advised that $100 of the payment is set aside as a deposit and is non-refundable in the event that the test is canceled.
